General Information
Santo East School is one of the largest school in Vanuatu. It is located in Luganville Santo, Sanma Province at Latitude 15° 30’35.18”S and longitude 167° 17’24.06Ë. Established in 1982, the school progressed over the years with support from the national government and stake holders. Over the years, the school has received support from the Australian Government (AUSAID), Japanese Aid (JICA) and numerous non-government organizations. The Vanuatu government supplies most of the teachers who are well trained and qualified to teach at all levels. The school has a land area of 56,000m² which is convenient to accommodate our current population of nearly 2000 pupils.

This will be accomplished through continued cooperation between the school, community, parents, and students. We will foster a school climate that is safe and supportive for individual students, enabling them to succeed in our ever-changing world.

Statistics
Currently, the school comprises of Kindergarten, Primary and secondary sections. These sections have one administration that oversees all administrative and financial affairs. There are four (4) kindergarten classes, multiple classes for Year 1 – 13 respectively. Currently, a total of 4 ECCE teachers, 29 Primary teachers, 55 secondary teachers and 22 primary staff altogether. Furthermore, the school has an active school council that makes important decisions regarding the overall running of the school. Mr. Jonathan Iavere, who is the current Luganville Town Clerk is the Chairman of the school board.

Developments
Most of the buildings in the school are permanent with access to electricity and water supply. After TC Harold destroyed most of classrooms, the school is slowly recovering with temporary classrooms being erected. Recently, the school is looking forward to establish two unit storey buildings that will accommodate 14 classrooms for our students. This is a major development that is expected to begin early 2022.
